The CW
Well I guess it's officially Fall, I'm trying very hard to adjust to the cool weather. I'm not much of a Fall or Winter person anyway. Yesterday I was cozed up in the house looking at the Monday night line up on the CW. First things first, Girlfriends I'm sorry but I'm not feeling it this season. it's not that Toni's gone it just doesn't have that umph in it that it had all the other seasons. Why do they constantly have to have drama? Why can't they get their lives right? it's like black woman are being sterotyped, and the writer and creator of the show is black so it's like huh? it's like the character never grows or mature and thats what the girls on girlfriends are suppose to be doing. Sure Maya became an author, Lynn became a musician Joan got engaged, but now Maya is not longer an author, they aren't showing Lynn doing anything in her career, and Joan and her fiancee` weren't getting along with each other and now he's in Iraq! after this season Girlfriends needs to call it quits.
On the other hand I really like The Game, and if you've been watching every Monday like I've been then you'll know that The Game is like the IT show. I get anxious and excited everytime it comes on, I can't believe melanie would try to sleep with Malik to get back at Derwin! and Drew Sadora made me so mad when she kissed Derwin at the ESPY awards, how could she talk about her feelings when she knew Derwin was with Melanie, she wanted to get back at him because of that, thats why she slept with him! I knew something was wrong when Malik was being nice to Melanie, when she asked for advice about Derwin. Something wasn't right. and then Tasha walked in on Malik and Melanie even though they did't sleep together, but it did look like they slept together. I know word is going to get around about that! whoo had to get that all of my chest, and I will not MISS next weeks episode!

Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married movie malfunction
I'm Back C.A. babes! and let me tell you their was a disappointment tonight at the movies! No it wasn't Tyler, It wasn't the movie theater it was the...... movie reel i'm guessing. So we get to the movies and the majority of them are sold out, we see alot of people coming out not knowing it was a malfunction . Dissatisfied customers were in a long line getting refunds and going back into the theaters to see the movie for free, or getting their refunds and going home. My friend and I are in the ladies room freshening up before we go take our seats in the theater when we hear two ladies talking about how they got to see the Tyler Perry movie for free. Some one who knows my friend told her they got to the movies at 7:00pm and didn't get out unti about 10:00 pm the movie they went to see malfunctioned they got a refund and saw the movie for free. My friend and I get inside the movie and take our seats, we should have known the film was going to malfunction when the screen telling everyone to silence their cell phones stayed frozen for a good five to ten minutes. After a few more previews the movie played smoothly until about at least 30 to 40 minutes into the movie. The first mishap was that the screen cut off, groans from the people. the movie came back on for two minutes. more groans from the people that was when one of the managers came in to inform us that the movie was experiencing techincal difficulities, more groans a few people get up to leave the majority of the people stays until the movie cuts off yet a third time pops back on and this time it's blurred and jumpy, thats when the majority got up all at the same time and walked out, every one wanted refunds about 15 mins later one of the managers come to the line and informs every one that the movie is back up and running but with dissatisfied customers everyone stands firm with wanting their refunds. Tyler lost money in a certain part of Virginia tonight. I love Tyler Perry and I still suport him because he's talented and his movies and plays are entertaining and outstanding. What made it so bad is that black folks were walking out of the movie saying " I should of gotten bootleg instead!" or "We should of gotten this on bootleg!" I in no way think this is Tyler's fault at all, and it was truly a malfunction. the movie should have been reviewd by the staff at the movies to ensure that it was a good quality film that had gotten sent to them. On top of that I had and experience with the Tyler Perry film Daddy's Little Girls last year, the first time the movie came out, it was excellent, the color, the sound. Nice crisp and clear. I turned around that next week and saw it again with another friend of mine who hadn't saw it. It was horrible! the quality was off, the movie flickered, you could see the mic being held over the actor's and actresse's heads as they were saying their lines you saw shadows every thing. I think certain theater's get certain quality movies from others, or the people aren't doing their jobs right. But once again I do not blame this on Tyler, I don't know him personally but I don't think he would make a messed up film and just throw it out their knowing how much alot of people are fans of his works.

Im So MAXIMVS!! (pronounced maximus)
Hey C.A. babes!
I hope all is well with you! I'm soo Sorry for not updating sooner, I was caught up with business matters and work, so aside from my other blog posts I post, I'm going to have an interview posted, each week for a week so everyone can get to see who I interviewed and check em out! and I still will be posting my regular posts to, so now theirs something in it for everyone, F.A.B!
Now onto the good s**t! I had the pleasure of speaking with rapper MAXIMVS (pronounced, maximus) He is so sweet and down to earth, and ulike some artists out their trying to come up, he doesn't believe in portraying an image that he's not. With blazin' tracks like Where Ya Heart At , Fight The Future and more, he'll keep your ears open and ya heads bobbin'. he's a very talented hard worker and who will , DEFINITELY SHINE! Check it out!
C.A.: how long have you been rapping?
Maximvs:I started when I was about 12 or 13 I knew I wanted to rap when Iheard my first rap song. Listening to artists like N.W.A., Eazy E and Compton Most Wanted. Then later came Snoop and Dre. I listened to a lot of west coast back then but the east coast and the south are really where its at for me.
C.A.:What was your first experience like being in the studio?
Maximvs:When I was about 19, I was living in texas and I was working withthese cats his name was b-down or something like that. It was a small home studio, not much to it. Just a beat machine, a mic and an 8 track recorder.
C.A.:were you nervous?
Maximvs:Yea I guess I was a lil bit. But im confident in my abilitiies, so I just went in there and do what I do.
C.A.:do you write your own music?
Maximvs:Yea I write all my own music and produce most of it too, even the r&b, though I have singers come in and sing those parts.
C.A.:how did you get the name MAXIMVS?
Maximvs:MAXIMVS was a name I was given when I was part of a group. We did alot of concious/ political music back then. The other two in the group called themselves Ra and Hotep after egyptian Gods. Im half Italian so I took the name MAXIMVS, after the roman warrior. America is the new Rome anyway, so I think its fitting.
C.A.:some artsists rap about their childhood and growing up in thestreets, do you write about similar things or a variety of things?
Maximvs: As far as where my music came from, it’s all from experience in someway, as far as the streets I can’t really say anything about it cuzim not really from the streets, I don’t rhyme to much about being a gangsteror thug, cuz im not any of those things. But im not from the suburbseither so don’t get it twisted.
C.A.:who have you worked with so far in the industry?
Maximvs:My homeboy Khali I’ve worked with him for over 10 years now. He mentoredme in a lot of things as far as music and the industry are concerned. All my dudes that I really mess with hard, are in my top 8 on my myspace page. I havent worked with any really big names yet, but im going to.
C.A.:what sets you apart from the other artists out there?
Maximvs: I’m very diverse. im able to adapt to pretty much any type of track. I can do a dance track or talk about subjects that actually matter. Imnot talking about poppin chris, and smoking weed. I like to appeal tothe females but I also do the harder tracks for the fellas as well. I just rap about what goes on in every day life.
C.A.:tell me about the track on your album, Fight The Future?
Maximvs:The beat for that song was done by a dude called Akademics. I heard the beat and I already knew I wanted to put a message to the song. It basically says wake up and open your eyes before the freedoms we all take for granted everyday no longer exist. I dont know about you but I dont want no microchip in my arm. Theres already a camera on every street corner. Were basically headed for a police state. Chances are if you voted for Bush, you wont like that song.
C.A.:So is your album already out?
Maximvs:Yea its out, if you want a copy you can download it at www.myspace.com/maximvsmusic.
C.A.:any artists featured on your album?
Maximvs: Yeah, Khali’s on the album. He produced "Where ya heart at", and 1 or 2 other tracks on the album. Hotep, Vigh Slim, L jai, and Cedric Owens.
C.A.:why did you name your album Listen Hear?
Maximvs:I didn’t want to come off with an album title that was too cocky, but also not too understated. Just basically listen to it and hear what im sayin. It’s my first album and im still trying to build a fan base so I just kept it simple.
C.A.:I listened to your tracks on myspace and I really liked Around TheWorld, and Where ya heart at, do you have any favorite tracks on your album?
Maximvs:My two favorite tracks are Senorita and Goodbye.
C.A.Why?
Maximvs:Both tracks I wrote and produced entirely. Those tracks are completely me. Thats the type of music I really like doing.
C.A.:I read that you’ve showcased for naughty by nature, how was that experience?
Maximvs:It was cool. When I showcased for Naughty by Nature it was a concert andthey were asking people to come up and free style, so I did. I cant honestly say it was my best performance, but I got to chop it up with em’ a lil bit after the concert so it was cool.
C.A.:whats your advice for aspiring rappers out their trying to make itor get their selves out their?
Maximvs:Be who you are don’t come out there thinking you have to be 50 cent, most rappers think you have to be a gangster to be a rapper andthat’s not the case. Just do you, cause if you try to fake it, it wont be long before everyone sees right through it.
C.A.: how do you feel about the progress you’ve made from when youfirst started out to now?
Maximvs:Over all, I feel good about it. I feel like I’ve come along way from when I first started. I had a Casio keyboard and a karaoke machine I was trying to record on, now I have thousands of dollars worth of equipment. I still aint where I want to be though.
C.A.: who are your influences?
Maximvs:Nas, 2Pac, LL Cool J, Common, Jay-Z
C.A.:any last words?
Maximvs:If you haven’t heard the album please go listen to the album, tellyour friends about it. If your feeling it buy it, I don’t care if youdownload it and make your friends a copy, im just trying to get my name out there.I'll take all the support and promotion I can get, and I appreciate it.
Shouts to all my people, Khali, Hotep, Dony Adair, Vigh SlimAkademics, Optimus Rhyme, Silver Dollar, and Malachi.
